(verified owner)Installed this converter in my 97 F350 7.3 Powerstroke while i had the engine out to fix a cracked timing cover. I also did some turbo mods, but i would say this converter is the best single change i made to the truck.
The old converter had a stall speed of nearly 2k rpm, while this converter stalls closer to 1,500 rpm. The improvement in part-throttle acceleration is very pronounced; it doesn’t feel like you have to floor it to get the truck to move, anymore.
I’ve also used the truck to haul about 4 tons of hay on a 3,500lb trailer, and it pulled strongly and locked up positively, never felt like it was bogging or needed more revs.
I will see how the long-term durability pans out, but the warranty is reassuring, and so far my initial impression is that this converter is one of the best “bang-for-buck” upgrades you can do for an early Powerstroke.
